“AN EVENT SO EPIC IT WILL TAKE 30 NONPROFITS TO PULL IT OFF”

This half-day event brings together 30 local nonprofits to compete in Olympic-style games, all in support of Friday Harbour’s mission of healing cancer one night at a time by providing free lodging to patients and caregivers who are in the The Medial Center seeking cancer care for diagnosis or treatment.

We are asking you to commit to a sponsorship of at least $1,000 to Charity Field Day that will help us create a great experience surely to change the way Nonprofits collaborate in the city of Houston forever. Your contribution to Friday Harbour will not only help deliver Friday Harbour’s mission of healing cancer one night at a time, but also impact the reach of our local nonprofit peers as we collaborate together in Charity Field Day.

  • Help name your nonprofit team and create your team of 6-8 players. (these could include staff, donors, volunteers, board members, sponsors, etc.). We can also match you to a nonprofit in need of support to participate.

Sponsorship includes:

  • Branded bibs, program recognition, team lunch

What to do now?

  1. Complete the form below or e-mail us at info@FridayHarbour.org to sponsor a team for a minimum of $1,000 (Sponsorship includes: name on competition bibs, recognition on program, lunch for team members, promotional sign at speaker’s location, company link on event site, photo opportunity with your nonprofit partner, and social media postings before, during, and after the event).
  2. Help name your nonprofit team and create your team of 6-8 players (may include staff, donors, volunteers, board members, sponsors, etc.). We can also match you to a nonprofit in need of support to participate.
  3. Have your own nonprofit or one that you currently support?? Let’s work together to see if we can get them included. Complete the form below and include the name of your nonprofit or the nonprofit you currently support.
  4. Review the Small Business Sponsorship information below.

Tentative Agenda for the Event: Coming Soon – Fall, 2026

7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Set up and Registration of Teams (Breakfast served)
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Teams/Group Picture; Safety & Rules Review; Team Ice Breaker
8:30 AM – 8:35 AM: Special Guest/Celebrity Ribbon Cutting, Ambassador Shotgun Start
8:40 AM – 12:00 PM: Games Commence
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Awards Lunch & Special Guest Keynote (Charity – Community – Health)

Entry Fee: Each nonprofit organization will be sponsored by a Houston based Small Business.

Why Your Donation Matters

“At MD Anderson Cancer Hospital my doctor had ordered an MRI of my brain. He came in with the results and had told me the chemotherapy I was on was no longer shrinking the mass and recommended 15 treatments of radiation. Which means my husband and I would have to be at MD Anderson every day. My first thought was how were we going to be able to make a 6-hour drive from San Antonio every day for 15 treatments? We both have jobs and driving really wears you out. The doctor had mentioned there was an organization that he would contact to see if they were able to help with places to stay. When I was discharged from the hospital I received a phone call from my doctor stating that Friday Harbour granted me multiple nights of hotel stay so that I could complete my radiation. It was such a weight lifted off my chest knowing that now I didn’t have to worry about finding a place to stay or driving almost 6 hours a day for treatments. In such a difficult time there are wonderful people out there to brighten others days!”
